Maritime SMS software for commercial fishing.

Incidents, near misses and man overboard drills recorded at sea, even without coverage.

Fishing vessels spend long days and sometimes weeks at sea, often out of coverage, with small crews working through the night. Catch reporting runs through its own systems, while the vessel, crew and safety records still need to be kept on board. Safety software built for factories and offices does not fit a deck. Reporting a near miss has to be as quick as telling the skipper, or it does not happen.

What it covers for
fishing operators

Maritime safety management system software for hazards, incidents, drills, inductions and reviews, built around the safety system you already have.

  • Incident and near miss reports in a few taps
  • Hazard register kept current by vessel
  • Drills, inductions and toolbox talks recorded
  • Corrective actions tracked to done
  • Regular safety reviews scheduled
  • Reports for safety meetings and audits

Built around how fishing operators work

A safety management system only works if people use it on the boat. We build the software side of yours: hazard registers, incident and near miss reports, drills, inductions and toolbox talks, and the regular reviews, captured on a phone in a few taps and tracked through to done.

  • Records captured offline for days at sea
  • Crew rest across long trips and night work
  • Maintenance on hard-working engines and gear
  • Safety drills and incidents recorded at sea

Alongside your vessel software, or instead of it.

We build the tool around how your operation runs, as a web app for the office and an iOS and Android app for the boat, on our own post-trained models where they fit. Keep the software you use today and connect the two, or let the new tool take its place.

Good questions, answered

Do we need a safety management system?

Most commercial vessel operators do. In New Zealand that is usually through MOSS, and in Australia domestic commercial vessel operators need a documented safety management system. Check what applies to your operation with the regulator or a maritime consultant.

Does the software replace our safety documents?

No. Your documented system stays yours. The software is how the records it calls for are captured and followed through.

Does this replace our catch reporting?

No. Catch and position reporting run through their own required systems. This covers the vessel operations and safety side: the logbook, maintenance, crew and safety records.

How does it cope with long trips out of coverage?

Everything is captured and stored on the device and syncs back when the vessel returns to coverage, so a trip of any length is recorded in full.
