Maritime SMS software for ferries and passenger vessels.

Passenger incidents, near misses and disruptions recorded and reviewed across the service.

Ferry and passenger vessel operators run timetabled sailings where passenger numbers, crew changes and engine hours build up fast. Shift work across early and late sailings makes crew rest and handovers as important as the maintenance programme. Safety software built for factories and offices does not fit a deck. Reporting a near miss has to be as quick as telling the skipper, or it does not happen.

What it covers for
ferry operators

Maritime safety management system software for hazards, incidents, drills, inductions and reviews, built around the safety system you already have.

  • Incident and near miss reports in a few taps
  • Hazard register kept current by vessel
  • Drills, inductions and toolbox talks recorded
  • Corrective actions tracked to done
  • Regular safety reviews scheduled
  • Reports for safety meetings and audits

Built around how ferry operators work

A safety management system only works if people use it on the boat. We build the software side of yours: hazard registers, incident and near miss reports, drills, inductions and toolbox talks, and the regular reviews, captured on a phone in a few taps and tracked through to done.

  • Passenger numbers recorded on every sailing
  • Crew handovers between shifts
  • High engine hours on tight maintenance windows
  • Timetable changes and disruptions recorded

Alongside your vessel software, or instead of it.

We build the tool around how your operation runs, as a web app for the office and an iOS and Android app for the boat, on our own post-trained models where they fit. Keep the software you use today and connect the two, or let the new tool take its place.

*Every engagement is scoped and quoted up front. Results vary by workflow and business.

Straight answers

Do we need a safety management system?

Most commercial vessel operators do. In New Zealand that is usually through MOSS, and in Australia domestic commercial vessel operators need a documented safety management system. Check what applies to your operation with the regulator or a maritime consultant.

Does the software replace our safety documents?

No. Your documented system stays yours. The software is how the records it calls for are captured and followed through.

Can sailing and passenger data come from our ticketing system?

Usually, yes. Sailings and passenger numbers can come in from ticketing, so crew confirm them rather than type them.

How are shift handovers handled?

The outgoing crew's notes, defects and open items are handed to the next crew in the app, so nothing relies on a conversation at the gangway.
