What is MOSS?
The Maritime Operator Safety System is Maritime NZ's safety system for most commercial vessel operators in New Zealand. Operators work to a Maritime Transport Operator Plan and are audited against it. Maritime NZ's own guidance is the authority on what applies to you.
Do you write our operator plan?
No. Your plan belongs to your operation and is prepared by the people responsible for it, with a maritime consultant if you use one. We build the tool that runs the plan day to day.
Can our clients see their own vessels?
Yes. Each client can be given access to their own vessels' service history and reports, and nothing else.
Can it produce our survey or service reports?
Yes. Notes, photos and measurements captured on the job can be drafted into your own report format for you to check and sign.
