Inside the rollout

Kingsley Fenwick Solicitors' associates were spending a significant share of billable hours on first-pass review, reading commercial contracts end to end to flag unusual clauses, missing terms and deviations from the firm's standard positions before a partner ever saw the document. It was necessary work, but it was slow and it was the same pattern every time.

Our approach

We built an agent trained on the firm's own playbooks and precedent library that reads a contract on intake and produces a clause-by-clause flag list, citing the specific playbook position each flag relates to, ready for an associate to verify rather than discover from scratch. Nothing goes to a client without a solicitor's sign-off.

Results at a glance

It reads like a very fast, very consistent junior associate who has memorised every playbook we own. Our associates are verifying flags instead of hunting for them, and first-pass review that used to eat an afternoon is done before lunch.

What the panel had to say about Kingsley Fenwick Solicitors:

Kingsley Fenwick Solicitors are an example of a City firm modernising without cutting corners on the standard their clients expect. Halving associate time on first-pass contract triage gives junior lawyers back hours for the judgement work that actually builds their career.

The panel noted the firm kept a qualified associate in the loop on every flagged clause rather than removing oversight to chase a bigger efficiency number, a sign of a firm that understands exactly where the line is.
