Semantic search (RAG) in Tauranga.
Built and supported here - the way a Tauranga business would actually use it.
What semantic search (RAG) actually does
Search that understands intent, not just keywords. With the right workflow automated, nine hours of admin a week could drop to about one.*
*Illustrative example only, based on 9 hours a week of admin falling to about 1 hour a week. Actual results vary by workflow and business.
Tauranga ships the forestry, kiwifruit and dairy that fill New Zealand's export vessels. We automate the logistics paperwork, packhouse rosters and invoicing behind every container.
One workflow.
In production.
In weeks.

- No shelfware or licences you do not use
- No annual contracts
What Tauranga runs on.
The Port of Tauranga is New Zealand's largest export port, and forestry, kiwifruit and dairy make up almost 75 per cent of its exports.
Most of New Zealand's kiwifruit crop is exported through the Port of Tauranga. Kiwifruit picking and packhouse work run from about March to mid-June.
Built differently, on purpose.
*Every engagement is scoped and quoted up front. Results vary by workflow and business.
On the tools or running at scale, the admin still eats the week :)
The questions a public sector buyer asks, answered up front: privacy impact, the NZISM, where the data lives and how an algorithm is held to account.

Straight answers
How long does semantic search (RAG) take to ship for Tauranga businesses?
We aim for a working pilot inside 4-6 weeks - narrow scope, real Tauranga businesses data, measurable outcome. From there it's another 6-8 weeks of hardening before you'd consider it production. Full rollouts (multiple sites, multiple teams) typically land in 3-4 months.
What's the realistic outcome for Tauranga businesses?
Average search time drops from 6 minutes to 12 seconds. We don't promise tenfold lifts because we don't see them outside of marketing decks.
How do you price semantic search (RAG) engagements?
Fixed-scope pilots first, then either project pricing or a small monthly retainer for the ongoing work. No long lock-ins, no 18-month black-box deals. Most Tauranga businesses are surprised how small the first cheque is.
Does scheduling handle public holidays?
It should. New Zealand has 11 national public holidays, including Matariki, plus a regional anniversary day that depends on where your business is.
What happens when the Holidays Act is replaced?
The Employment Leave Act 2026 replaces it on 6 August 2028. Until then payroll follows the current Holidays Act, so leave calculations need to handle today's rules and the changeover.
