The honest read on AI for reporters and correspondents in NZ and Australia.
Every reporters and correspondents team we've worked with has a different definition of "broken".

How it works in New Zealand
We find the one workflow costing Reporters and Correspondents the most hours, ship a working slice into production in weeks, prove it pays for itself, then harden it and hand it over.
We'd call the engagement a success when Reporters and Correspondents are using the system without thinking about us. 0.28% of all Claude.ai conversations map to this kind of work (Anthropic Economic Index, March 2026) Kiwi Dynamics
By the numbers
Canada's overall AI usage sits at 4.37x its expected level, with Singapore leading at 5.53x.
Adoption is already well ahead of the curve, and the edge goes to whoever turns it into a concrete workflow first.
Small crew or big organisation, the busywork is the same :)
Quotes with GST, consent paperwork, LBP records and health and safety logs: the admin every New Zealand trade business carries.

Good questions, answered
What's a typical engagement length for Reporters and Correspondents?
Six to twelve weeks for the build, then a short managed-services month while the system goes from "shipped" to "owned by your team". After that you keep us on retainer if you want, or take it from there yourself.
Can you work with our existing systems?
Yes. The default AI stack we reach for is Draft and edit copy on brand, Repurpose content across channels, Research and outline fast, Caption, summarise and tag media, but we'll bend it around whatever you already run - Xero, HubSpot, Shopify, Cin7, your own in-house apps. The discovery week maps every data source before any build starts.
Do you do hourly billing or fixed price?
Fixed price for the pilot, every time. After that it's your call - fixed price per milestone or a small monthly retainer for ongoing iteration. We don't run open-ended T&M because it disincentivises us from finishing.
Do you work with Xero?
Yes. Xero is one of the systems we build around, and we connect to the other tools you already run rather than asking you to switch.
Can it keep track of ACC levies?
Yes. ACC work levies are set by the classification unit your work falls under, and self-employed people are invoiced after filing their tax return.
